LOS ANGELES METROPOLITAN OPERA
Amanda McAllister is a graduate of the University of Missouri Kansas City
Conservatory of Music.  She has performed roles in various operas including the
Mother in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, Cherubino in Mozart’s Le
Nozze di Figaro, Javotte in Massenet’s Manon and Suzy in Puccini’s La Rondine .  
Also experienced in choral literature, Amanda’s credits include Carmina Burana,
Stravinsky’s Les Noces, Bernstein’s Kaddish, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and
reoccurring soloist roles in Handel’s Messiah.

In the summer of 2006, Amanda was chosen as one of 30 singers to attend the
esteemed OperaWorks Summer Intensive Program in Los Angeles. While there,
Amanda was cast as Le Noose in the world premiere of Trey Veet, Detective and
the Curse on the High C’s, a partially improvised opera created with her
OperaWorks colleagues under the direction of Ann Baltz and Eli Villanueva.   The
summer of 2007 took Amanda to Italy for Italian language school in Siena where
she improved her language and sight seeing skills. Amanda resides in the Los
Angeles area where she is a voice student with Kathleen Darragh, vocal coach Dan
Bridston, and certified Alexander Technique teacher Pamela Blanc.
